Although I spend many hours sketching from live models and scouring the countryside, these sketches are rarely used in my final work. Instead, I attempt to distill these experiences mentally – to organize them through colour, line and mass – to express both an emotional and visual reaction to the environment in a painting that is readable and meaningful to myself and to others.
Art education for me has covered many years. I have taken numerous courses at the University of Alberta, Grant McEwan College, and through the Federation of Canadian Artists (BC), where I was an active member for ten years and gained exposure from many juried shows. As a result, I received an invitation to have a One Woman Show at the Vernon Public Art Gallery and acceptance in a number of private galleries in BC.
After moving to Ontario, I joined The Elora Studio Tour and sales continued. This Spring my work was selected for the yearly juried “Insights Exhibition” at the Wellington County Museum.
I now live in Kitchener and have a studio at 283 Duke Street.
