EXPLORING AND CELEBRATING HISTORICAL ROOTS OF CREATIVITY
Professor Geoffrey Hayes, of the History Department, uWaterloo will be exploring a number of topics of historical interest in connection with the Rumpel Felt Factory during his PowerPoint BOX 11 History Talk.

BOX 11 Art Show & Sale begins @ 1:00 pm.
BOX art Show & Sale moves its venue to a different ‘undeveloped’ industrial factory in our region each year, giving visitors an opportunity to see buildings rarely open to the public. The history of the factory and the contributions made are researched and presented in various ways during the BOX Show and Sale.
Saturday November 13 @ noon: Exploring and Celebrating Historical Roots of Creativity
Sonia Lewis, CEO of The Kitchener Public Library, will present the history and times of the BOX 10 venue, using old photographs and fire plans. This factory was home to The Merchant’s Rubber Company and Dominion Rubber Company, and is now being developed as The Breithaupt Block. Owner Perimeter Development Corporation will conduct a factory tour following the history talk.
Sunday November 14 @ noon: Promoting Visual Arts and Arts Education
Doug Kirton, well known painter and Associate Professor of Fine Arts at uWaterloo, will host an hour-long open critique session on the BOX 10 artwork. Senior art students and teachers, from secondary and post secondary institutions are invited to participate, as well as the general public. This is a great way to learn more about art!
